KIDS ACTIVITIES

A huge thank you to the many groups that will be assisting the festival by providing activities at the festival this year.  We hope that families will enjoy all that they have provided to our community.

AVID, Library and Dia group will also be providing a flower making art project onsite with the Aztec history, origin and significance of the Cempazuchitl.

Adelante Bookmobile will be onsite to find about activities that are held at the Oceanside Public Libraries, with the 2 City bookmobiles and all about literacy and reading programs as well as how to get your favorite book

Studio ACE will be onsite for an arts and craft activity making masks, coloring and providing information about art projects and education that provide to many areas around North County.

Home Depot will be onsite providing 4-inch tiles to draw and color your own sugar skulls on.  What a great time to find out more about their MONTHLY Kids Clinics for you and your family!

Education Begins in the Home (EBH) provides FREE books to the families of North County San Diego (from Oceanside to Valley Center), participating in both school and community events.   In operation since May 2015, we have provided over 208,000 FREE books.  Our goal is to help improve the literacy level of our youth and our focus is on elementary school children.  Our group is one of several active programs under 501c3, Empowering Latino Futures.  Our books are sorted into 4 age groups - pre-K, elementary school age, middle school and high school/adults.  During Oceanside's Dia de los Muertos event, we will be offering 5 books to all 4 age-groups.

Boys and Girls Clubs of North San Diego (formerly Boys and Girls Clubs of Oceanside and San Dieguito) 

From athletics to education and arts, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego offers a wide variety of after school and out of school programs to meet the needs of the community and instill a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence and competence in our youth.  In a diversified community, they provide education, arts and activities for children and youth.  Their mission:  Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego is an organization dedicated to providing POSITIVE activities to develop the education, health, self-esteem and character of youth.  At the festival, they will be providing paper flower making activity for our children and youth.

North County Lifeline (Club Crown Heights):  

La Casita (Ages 6-10) & La Escuelita (Ages 11-17): 

Their Mission:  to build self-reliance among youth, adults, and families through high-quality, community-based services.  They give youth, adults, and families the tools they need to solve their own problems and become self-reliant. 

  • Nurture Resilient Youth and Adults

  • Cultivate Strong Families

  • Partner to Solve Community Problems

At the festival, they will be providing a free activity to our children and youth.
